Nablus is a 100.000 residents city in the north of the Westbank. The biggest palestinian refugee camp ‘Balata’ is situated close to the city. It was built 1950 and around 30000 people are living on one sqarekilometer.
Frightening in all the city and especially in Balata are all the martyrer posters on the houses, even on childrens playgrounds you see posters of palestinian fighters, mostly very young, posing with huge guns. It doesn’t look like peace there. We also visited a soap factory and an old traditional bath house. But since there are no tourists comming the economy seems very fucked up.
