Before I forget, here are some impressions of Hebron, another city in the westbank i visited last week. The problem is that many jewish settlements are situated in, or very close to the city. Some of them are illegal. That means huge tensions between israeli and palestinian residents. The settlers are protected by many soldiers and some of them carry weapons (irritating to see civilian people with automatic guns on the streets). The abraham mosque in the center of the city was scene of a big massacre 1994. Much more detailed Information about the conflict in Hebron you can find at Wikipedia
The hospitality of palestinian people was the good aspect of the little journey. What they told about injustice happening to them was disturbing. Destroyed houses, many checkpoints and marks of violence and hate made me feel uncomfortable.
Pessach break is starting right now and tomorow we’ll go for a roadtrip to the south of israel. The death sea, negev desert and beduins are waiting for three french guys and one german in an israeli car.
