During my time at Bezalel school in Jerusalem I attended a typography course named “Modern Times/Serial Design” with Prof. Heike Grebin, a lecturer from germany. We had to design a series of posters for a fictional theater. These three posters are my favorites even if they were not the final ones. The drawings I are from an israeli childrens book published in the seventies, which I found in my flatmates room. At the end of the semester we made an exhibition at goethe institute in Jerusalem. I had the honour of making the poster for the exhibition named “HEIKE” as well.

Superzeichen (2006)

In the first semester course ‘design essentials’ with Professor Ralf Dringenberg we where skilled to create elemental signs, which are extremely reduced harmonic objects. With those signs we developed super signs whitch contained only of our root elemental sign by doing geometrical operations like rotation, reflection or movement. It was a kind of manifestation to see how design works with with mathematical expressions.

Light Pollution

I shot about hundret illuminated advertisements. With the letters is buit the sentence: Light Pollution is the elucidation of the night heaven by human created, installed and operated light sources.

In the first semester typography we had to layout a news page for a daily newspaper. Text and images where given.

Perheps I felt a kind of addiction for typogaphy when I took that picture as a title for a semester documentation in my first Semester.

During the second semester we had to create a corporate identity for an artist we liked. Logo-Design, CD and booklet and a rolling stone magazine page. I took the tree with roots as a symbol for the reggae-music my artist stands for.

DVD Cover

The exercise was a DVD cover for the Wim Wenders film ‘Paris, Texas’. I oriented on the mood of the film and the red colour, which has a special meaning in the film too.
