Bei einem schönen Ausflug an die Mosel zum “Dampf Spektakel 2010″ entstanden ein paar Aufnahmen, die sich ausgezeichnet für eine Technik eignen, die ich im folgenden kurz erkläre.
Momentan sehr beliebt in Foto und Video ist der sogenannte “Tilt Shift” Look, der entweder durch spezielle Optiken oder wie in meinem Fall in Photoshop erzielt wird. Dieser Telekomspot ist sicher einer der bekanntesten (und auch schönsten) Vertreter unzähliger Beispiele im Netz. Im Grunde geht es um eine freie Verlagerung der Schärfeebene und den dadurch entstehenden Eindruck einer Makroaufnahme [s. flickr]. Hier wirds in wenigen Schritten für Photoshop erklärt. Eine vergleichbare Technik für After Effects erläutert Andrew Cramer in diesem Tutorial. Ähnliche Effekte erzielt man auf analogem Wege mit Lensbaby Objektiven. [s. flickr] .

Silicon Valley (2008)

As a second work for the photo course ’still life and architecture’ I remembered some old computer mainboards which I found in waste several month ago. I sprayed them with white cans and actually I solved both topics of the course in one work. On a big printout the effect of a little industry territory shot from a helicopter is even amplified.
I was happy when I received an email of an architecture professor who wanted to buy my picture for his office and also publish it in the architecture magazine ‘Glas, Architektur und Technik’.

Architecture Photogaphy (2008)

In the fourth semester I occupied a photo course with the topic ‘still life and architecture’. For the architecture shots, I went to the area of a big former Industry enterprise near Frankfurt. All the building where deconstructed at that time and don’t exist anymore today. I wanted to highlight the apocalyptic mood and emphasized it with a bit of Photoshop.

A local rapper from Mainz named ‘form’ asked me to take some pictures of him for his new CD Cover. We went out and made a kind of ‘freestyle photo session’. Published in corner mag, 11/2009.

Mea Shearim – Tradition over all

Mea Shearim is one of the oldest neighborhoods in Jerusalem. Mostly orthodox and ultra orthodox jews are living here. It feels a bit like walking in another century because almost everybody is wearing traditional clothes, women in skirts, men with sidelocks and beards.
Some days before i passed Mea Shearim there were riots in the streets,
